Pacific Cycle Celebrates Expansion

When Pacific Cycle moved into the former WISC-TV studios on Hammersley Road almost 14 years ago, the primary motivation was to locate on a major bicycle artery. Little did they know how much they would love the neighborhood. Not many businesses in the Madison area are lucky enough to be located where their employees would also like live. Quiet streets and a welcoming neighborhood have helped Pacific Cycle attract and retain top talent in the bicycle design industry. As a result, their business has prospered and continues to grow.

In 2013, Pacific Cycle projected the addition of more than 30 jobs over the next few years and opted to move forward with a 10,000 square foot design studio addition along with site modifications and added parking across the street.  Iconica joins Pacific Cycle in celebrating completion of an addition and renovation at their existing facility at 4908 Hammersley Road.

Iconica was selected by the building owner, Chris Hornung, former owner of Pacific Cycle, to design and build the new addition.  The project team faced a number of challenges including neighborhood concerns, City utility rework, and the ever-present Wisconsin weather.  Pacific Cycle employees now enjoy freshly remodeled corporate offices, workout facilities, locker rooms with showers, and indoor bike storage for those who commute.

Pacific Cycle Inc., a division of Dorel Industries Inc., designs, markets and distributes high quality bicycles and other recreational products around the world. Pacific Cycle’s products span a wide range of brands including Schwinn, Mongoose, InSTEP, Iron Horse Bikes, Kid Trax, Playsafe, Roadmaster, Pacific, Dyno, and Powerlite.  In fact, Pacific Cycle sells more bicycles than any other company in North America and is one of the most prolific bicycle suppliers in the world.
